Extracts from the Royal Society Website:

"International scientific consensus agrees that increasing levels of man-made greenhouse gases are leading to global climate change.

Possible consequences of climate change include rising temperatures, changing sea levels, and impacts on global weather.

These changes could have serious impacts on the world's organisms and on the lives of millions of people, especially those living in areas vulnerable to extreme natural conditions such as flooding and drought."

Facts and Fictions about Climate Change

Action needs to be taken now on climate change if we are to save the planet. The Royal Society has produced a Guide that uses authoritative scientific evidence to examine 12 statements put forward by opponents of action on climate change. It exposes flaws in the arguments that ask for no action.

The Royal Society says:

"It has become fashionable in some parts of the UK media to portray the scientific evidence that has been collected about climate change and the impact of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities as an exaggeration"

"Some articles have claimed that scientists are ignoring uncertainties in our understanding of the climate and the factors that affect it. Some have questioned the motives of the scientists who have presented the most authoritative assessments of the science of climate change, claiming that they have a vested interest in playing up the potential effects that climate change is likely to have."

If everyone takes responsibility for generating power through renewables we as individuals can make a difference.

Investing in the installation of renewable energy generation means that you can save money while helping to save the planet.
